Molly is a very sweet, clever and good natured dachsie. She was used as a breeder for her first 6 years, then discarded when she became heartworm positive. A kind lady rescued her and her friend Dolly and our vet offered to cure her of heartworm gratis if we would take her into rescue and find her a good home.
Molly is the happiest, most easy going dachsie you could want. She is not demanding, but just loves to be petted and she loves her treats. Molly gets along with everyone and is outgoing and friendly. She had no problem with the heartworm treatment and is completely cured. She is utd on all vaccinations and micro-chipped.
Molly has had the occasional seizure, she never loses consciousness or bowel function - just shakes and gets disoriented. She is on phenobarbitol, a cheap, effective drug, which she gets twice a day. She has NOT had a seizure in some time and it is possible that they were related to the stress of her hard life and then the heartworm treatment- but Molly will have to go to a home that will continue to monitor her and give her medication as needed.
